An ethereally beautiful antique Edwardian Moonstone festoon necklace circa 1910.
Crafted from silver gilt typical of the era (with a later 9ct stamped clasp), and featuring a harmonious and exceedingly well matched blend of twenty one (21) oval and round clear cabochon Ceylon Moonstones in the much desired Festoon style.
Each and every Moonstone emits an enchanting blue adularescence / schiller glowing with the shimmering blue which dances with every movement we all desire in our Moonstones!
Draping elegantly around the neck this one measures 39.5cm which, dependent on neck circumference, will sit high on the décolleté, however extra links or even a ‘new’ chain could be easily added by your jeweller if extra length is required.

CONDITION
Very good antique condition. Each Moonstone is lovely and clear, no chips, abrasions of dulling. All emit stunning blue schiller / adularesence. 9ct gold bolt ring clasp and the two associated link would be a later addition, bolt ring is stamped 9ct and both round links are sealed. Gilt settings and chin are in very good condition, no repairs. This is a fine chain, with no apparent thinning to links however. Not an ‘everyday’ necklace, a special occasion piece and needs to worn with the care it deserves.
