Charming antique 9ct yellow gold openwork Lavaliere and associated 9ct yellow gold chain dating to the Edwardian era.
Set to the centre with a round faceted claw set Peridot inside an ornate framework set with two round faceted Garnets and an array of natural half seed pearls, and a Pearl set original bale to the top of the pendant.
An articulated drop suspended below contains a pear cut Peridot which moves sweetly when worn.
The trace chain and original push-in barrel clasp secure this sweet pendant safety around the neck.
We see these pendants with its associated colour combination of gems and Pearls sometimes described as ‘Suffragette’ jewellery however this is a contentious issue, one which won’t weigh into here.. either way its is a lovely original piece dating to the Edwardian era.
Drop with bale 5cm
Chain circumference 37cm
Very very good antique condition. All Pearls and Stones original. No chips, abrasions to Peridot or Garnets, all claws present and secure. Clasp is very secure and works perfectly. Barrel itself tests as 9ct, 'tongue' that inserts into barrel isn't gold but is very secure, insignificant issue.
