These charming and captivating earrings date to the early to mid Victorian era circa 1850, crafted in a time when jewellers worked with candle or early gas lighting and were designed to be worn and seen under similar lighting conditions.  The allure of old cut diamonds, set in silver settings (backed in gold) modelled to dance and sparkle with movement, is as appealing today as it was a century and a half ago.

Measuring just shy of 3cm drop from the ear, each earring features five old Mine cut diamonds set in individual Silver cut down collet settings, backed in 9ct gold, and topped with very solid 9ct gold shepherd hook ear wires.

Enchanting and rich with history these early earrings are truly a collectors dream.
