Antique Australian Art Deco 9ct Yellow Gold Monogram ‘CJD’ Cufflinks

Charming and very wearable early Australian 9ct gold cufflinks by ‘Apex’ (Rodd).
Dating to around the 1920’s perhaps a little later and crafted from bright and yellow 9ct gold, with inscribed monogram ‘CJD’ in cursive script.

With original barbells which are in excellent order with no dings these beautiful cufflinks are very much unisex and can jazz up any cuffed shirt !

History of G.E Rodd

George Rodd established his workshop in 1919 and began making trophies and medallions soon expanding into cutlery and jewellery.

By the 1930's Rodd was the leading manufacturer of jewellery in Australia. He used the trade name Apex until the firm became a limited company in 1948 when the name changed to Rodd.

Very good antique condition.  Minor surface marks to gold, very superficial and fine, could be polished to new by jeweller. Barbells in excellent condition, no denting.
