Sweet and poignant half moon crescent brooch / pendant crafted by one of our early Australian jewellery firms Willis and Sons Circa 1910.
Crafted in the motif of a crescent with the unusual addition of a floral sprig through the centre from 9ct pale yellow gold and set with half seed pearls throughout.
Hallmarked very clearly with Willis and Sons ‘Unicorn’ hallmark and the guarantee mark for 9ct gold.
At some stage of its history we believe the trace chain and top loop have been added to make this piece far more versatile to be worn as not only a brooch but a pendant. This chain can be removed easily of course if you wish.
