Another lovely antique Australian piece by one of our most prolific early jewellery firms Willis and Sons.
Crafted from 9ct rose gold and styled in the shape of a shield, set diagonally with seven tiny natural half seed peals with hand engraved intricate floral patterning to the outer corners in which is set two tiny faceted garnets or perhaps garnet topped doublets. (Test as Garnets).
Originally this piece would have been worn on a fob watch chain and bears some tiny impressions, not dents, to the verso which is evidence of this.
Quite large at 3.5cm not including bale by 2.2cm wide this lovely thing looks wonderful on a rose gold chain or perhaps you have an antique watch chain in your jewellery wardrobe just waiting to receive this superb antique Australian piece back to where she belongs.

‘Unicorn’ for Willis and Sons
‘W’ for Willis
Very very good antique condition. Front of shield is lovely, tiny seed pearls are secure and well set, two appear a sight different colour but no signs of re-gluing. Garnets are original and well set and secure. Verso shows some very shallow impressions where it has been worn up against a fob chain and very minor superficial marks to gold. Willis hallmarks clear and legible. Lovely pendantPlease note boxes and chains are for display onlyPurchase Summary
