Impeccable chain by one of our early Australian jewellers - George J. Jackson 1895-1931.

George was first at Ballarat Street Yarraville in Victoria in 1895 , by 1906 his firm was located in Russell Street Surrey Hills and there he remained until 1931.

A member of the Manufacturing Jewellers Association of Victoria (M.J.A.) and his makers mark was a ‘Swivel’ and was used with the Associations Guarantee stamps.
Crafted from 9ct rose gold of the most beautiful soft and rosy hue and measuring a wonderful 44.5cm which dependent on your neck size of course tends to sit right on the collar bones.

Stamped 9c to every curb-link and bearing Jacksons makers mark and guarantee marks to the two original dog clip clasps.

One dog clasp has been gold soldered internally so it does not open of course the other does and and closes this lovely chain perfectly.

To the centre of the chain is the original T bar suspended from a horizontal oval loop which is roomy enough to to attach a bolting if desired to hang your favourite pendant or locket also.

Signed Australian chains of this quality and age are becoming increasingly hard to source especially in this fantastic condition.

CONDITION
Very good to excellent condition.   No thinning between any link junction. Lovely patina.  All original components.  Ne dog clip has been gold soldered to the inside of clip - cannot be seen from the front - and quite frankly this is not a bad idea and was probably done for convenience.
