Antique Australian 9ct Rose Gold ‘Dinna Forget’ Pendant by Willis and Sons Circa 1910

Sale price$600.00 AUD

Laybys welcome! Contact Us today to secure your dream piece.

Absolutely charming early 20th century sentimental piece of jewellery by Willis and Sons in the form of a thistle pendant bearing the words ‘Dinna Forget’ in the Scottish dialect meaning ‘Do not Forget’.

Thistles are emblematic of guardianship & remembrance and the term ‘Dinna Forget’ is pretty well explanatory!  Often given during a courtship to remind ones loved one not to forget them… how romantic

Crafted from rose gold and **bloomed to give a matte finish with a yellow gold hue and hallmarked clearly to the verso with Willis and Sons iconic ‘Unicorn’ hallmark, ‘9’ and ‘W’ for the symbol they used after 1904 when they incorporated as Willis and Sons Pty Ltd.  (see Australian Jewellers Gold & Silversmiths Makers & Marks - Cavill Cocks and Grace).

Measuring a nice 2.9cm in diameter with a small jump ring suitable for a fine chain or pop this one on your favourite charm bracelet!
