Please note, boxes are for display only unless otherwise stated.

This all original, early Australian Conch Shell Cameo bangle is beautifully crafted in 9ct rose gold and fully hallmarked for A. Benjamin And Sons, an early Australian jeweller we seldom see pieces by in todays antique market.

Rather than being oval in shape, this bangle is much more round in shape, worn slightly higher on the wrist than typical oval bangles.  Featuring a bifurcated rail frame, the bangle secures with a push in box clasp which is firm and opens and closes securely.

Set to centre is a conch shell carved cameo of a Grecian lady in profile, her features are well defined and beautifully carved.  The conch shell cameo is held securely with six secure claws.  The conch shell is in lovely condition, free from any splits, chips or cracks, and does display unique organic pits characteristic of natural shell.

Overall, the bangle is in excellent antique condition, the bangle frame is free from any dents or bends. The original safety chain is also present.  A really lovely piece by a lesser known early Australian bangle which would be an asset to the discerning collector!
