Superb antique Australian piece by Willis and Sons circa 1910.

Crafted from 9ct rose gold and modelled as an articulated Lavaliere and set with various cuts of stunning Amethysts.

Suspended by the 9ct original trace chain - which bears a cartouche bearing Willis hallmark - are two curved knife edge bars to which is set two oval and two round beautiful faceted Amethysts.
These supporting bars then join to the central oval faceted Amethyst which weighs approximately 7.5ct, and suspended below this principal Amethyst is another knife edge bar  to which is set a round faceted Amethyst and finally a stunning pear-cut Amethyst.

The Amethysts have been chosen carefully, over 100 years ago, to ‘match’ each other in their various hues.  Each symmetrical matches perfectly, and the pear-cut is every so slightly darker in hue, the effect is stunning.

Measuring a generous 48cm around the neck.

In excellent antique condition this very collectible antique Australian necklace is a must for the serious collector or Amethyst enthusiast.
