Antique Australian 9ct Gold Nephrite Jade ‘Aroha Nui’ Heart Pendant Circa 1910

Collections: Sold Archive

Arohanui is a Maori word which translates to ‘Big Love’  in English.

This antique beauty is crafted from Nephrite Jade or ‘Pounamu’ with 9ct rose gold bale and to the centre the highly symbolic word Arohanui’ also in 9ct rose gold.

Almost definitely Australian in origin our early jewellers catered to a large NZ population here in Australia and the 9ct stamp is typically Australian in style.

To the verso are the two delicate gold studs which secure the Arohanui allowing this lovely heart to be worn with either side showing.

With a good sized bale this meaningful pendant can accommodate quite a thick chain or perhaps pop her on your favourite rose gold bolt clasp!
