Antique Australian 18ct Gold And Enamel Ring By ‘Wendts’ Circa 1890

A little mystery ring for sure but we believe this one is manufactured by Australian jeweller Jochim Matthias Wendt (1854-?).

Crafted from 18ct yellow gold and finely inlaid in ornate fashion with black enamel to a solidly crafted slightly tapering flat band.

Indicative of the Victorian era, beautifully crafted, and stamped with the Australian ’18ct’ style of stamp along with the makers marks ‘JMW’ which given extensive research we have eliminated all bar Jochim Wendt.

This rare little ring, regardless of maker, is one for the serious collector of unusual antique jewellery.
