Stunning and early piece of Australian history crafted from 15ct yellow gold and encrusted with natural seed pearls and Turquoise.
Manufactured around the turn of the century circa 1900 in Australia as evidenced by the easily recognisable three hallmarks to the verso.
Fashioned as a ten ray’ Starburst’ this celestial beauty is in tiered form with the pinnacle set with Turquoise held securely by eight claws.
Measuring 4cm in diameter with original flat wide C clasp and brooch fitting to the rear.
100% Australian as evidenced by the ‘Hanging fleece’ guarantee mark and 15ct hallmark, however the first stamp, the makers mark, is blurry. We believe it is the stamp for Willis and Sons.
This piece is in pristine condition for its approx 120 years with all pearls and Turquoise original.
‘?’ / 15 / ‘Hanging fleece’ Guarantee mark for M.J.A of Australia
Excellent antique condition. Pearls and Turquoise original with no evidence of replacements or re-gluing. Original clasp and brooch fitting to verso.
