Elegant, feminine and wonderfully evocative of its period, this is a very pretty example of an Australian antique opal half-hoop — a style that remains every bit as wearable today as it was over 100 years ago, and truly deserves to be seen.

Please note, boxes are for display only unless otherwise stated.

Dating to the early 20th century circa 1900s, this fine example of Australian history is designed as a graduating five Opal ring in ever popular half-hoop style.

Handcrafted from rich lush 15ct yellow gold, featuring five slightly graduated oval solid Opals exhibiting a myriad of greens, mauves, yellows and pinks, to a base body colour of a grey/blue, each individually claw set across the finger in the traditional half-hoop style, one ‘tip’ of a claw on the end opal is missing but there are four holding this particular Opal very securely in place. Each opal has its own slightly different pattern and personality, giving the row a particularly charming, organic appearance.

The rich 15ct yellow gold setting provides a beautiful contrast against the cooler tones of the opals, its mellow antique patina adding further warmth and character. The ring has a noticeable spread of 1.82cm x 5.5mm across the finger, with wide grooved shoulders to a lovely thick and solid shank.
