Antique Australian 15ct Yellow Gold Rose Cut Diamond And Paste Ring Circa 1890

Collections: Sold Archive

Crafted in Australia in the latter part of the 19th century to the turn of the century from bright and lush 15ct yellow gold.

Beautifully ornate and set in Gypsy style with a central red faceted paste stone typical of the era, and flanked by two tiny rose cut diamonds.

Wide at 9.1mm and a spread across the finger of 15.9mm and quite possibly the brightest 15ct gold we have seen appearing very much the colour of a higher carat.

Hallmarked inside with the Manufacturing Jewellery Association guarantee mark of the ‘Hanging Fleece’ indicating surety for 15ct gold and of course the 15ct stamp itself.  Sadly the third hallmark which would be the makers mark is stamped so poorly we cannot identify.

Low rise, and so very comfortable o the finger this early antique Australian ring will not disappoint.
