Wonderful and early Australian piece by Aronson & Co modelled from rich 15ct yellow gold and studded with natural half seed Pearls.
Crafted around the turn of the century or early in the first decade of the 20th century this versatile piece is both a brooch with its original pin and C clasp and also has a hidden bale which can accommodate a fine chain.
Celestial designs were adored by the Victorians following the appearance of Halleys comet and were commissioned in abundance along with crescent moons and the like.

‘Flag’ / 15 / ‘Hanging Fleece’ representing Australian guarantee of quantity mark (used between 1889 - 1920's).
CONDITION
Very good antique condition. All Pearls are original with no re-glues. One or two Pearls show a slight colour change but are original. C clasp and pin are original, very sight sign of C clasp having been re-enforced many decades ago, insignificant and old viewable under magnification.
