Crafted right around the turn of the last century circa 1900 this charming and early example of a gypsy ring was crafted here in Australia by A. Macrow (and Sons).
This fine example is simply stamped ‘MACROW’ without the ‘Sons’ which given the literature could date this one to 1899 or early 1900 as they become A. Macrow and sons in 1900.
Crafted from pale rose 15ct gold and set in typical Gypsy style with s small old European cut diamond which is flanked by two beautiful medium blue natural oval faceted Sapphires. The Sapphires and Diamond are in excellent condition with no wear or abrasions, just lovely!
Of particular interest inside the band the word ‘REAL STONES’ is stamped along with MACROW 15CT. We see this stamp seldomly but it is to differentiate the synthetic / paste stones used quite commonly in this era.
Low rise, comfortable, Australian, antique, stunning hallmarks and very collectible this ring ticks all our boxes and hope it ticks yours too!

Very good to excellent antique condition. Diamond and Sapphires are lovely with no chips or abrasions. No thinning to ring throughout. Hallmarks very crisp and clear.
