Superb and rare fancy link Australian 15ct rose gold chain dating to the first decade of the 20th century.
Immaculately and skillfully manufactured as a an oval grooved flat link with a stunning intricate rope-twist interlocking every alternate link.
Stamped with a tiny ’15’ to almost every link and and ’15c’ to both strong and large 2cm dog clips.
One of the heaviest and solid examples we have seen at just over 45 grams this piece is solid through and through and feels incredible around the neck.
At some time in its approximate 110 years we believe the original T-bar has been removed ( we will never know why ) as in our experience the makers marks were stamped on the T-bar… however it has been replaced with a high quality vintage 9ct T-bar and associated 5 round links which matches perfectly!
We may never know the maker, several of our early Australian jewellery produced chains of this quality: Stevenson Bros and Stewart Bros two name just two, but what we do know is that this heavy 45 gram fancy link Albert chain is a must for the antique Australian jewellery collector and will not disappoint.
