Charming and early 15ct rose Gold double sided photo locket by H. Simonsen 1914-1927 or Johnson & Simonsen 1895-1914. 

The hallmarks of Johnson and Simonsen and H. Simonsen Pty Ltd was the “Square and Compass” and used for their term of business spanning from 1895-1927.
Crafted from 15ct rose gold and set to the outer frame with four small natural half seed Pearls and an ornate scrolling border.

Retaining its two original (we believe) panes of glass which were cut and fit to hold a photo there fore with out a photo (or some dried flowers etc) to plump the two panes out these panes of glass rattle in their frame slightly.  We have left this one empty for you to decide what you would like inside!

Measuring 3.3cm in diameter and 4.0cm including  its original Pearl set bale.
Hallmarked clearly with Johnson and Simonsen stamp, 15ct and the M.J.A guarantee mark of the ‘Hanging Fleece’ for 15ct

Another mark in a raised cartouche ‘ S.D & Co’ would almost definitely be the mark of retailer.

CONDITION
Very good antique condition.  Bale is original, all tiny half Pearls are original with no re-gluing.  Panes of glass rattle as they need a photo etc to plump them out into frame.  One pane of glass has a noticeable scratch sadly but this is harder to see once photo is inserted.  Patina to gold, minor marks to gold.  No repairs.
