This absolutely darling piece dates to the late Art Deco era and is fully hallmarked for manufacture in 1924 with assay marks for the Chester assay office.
Manufactured by ‘Villiers & Jackson’ who resided in Hockey Hill, Birmingham, this exquisite little collectible item would originally have been worn from a Chatelaine but today would be worn from a silver chain at the throat and of course could still be used for her original purpose as the pencil inside, all 5.8cm of it, is still in perfecter order!
Measuring a pleasing 7cm in length this very pretty châtelain pencil is engraved both sides with a feminine flowing floral design, and to one side a blank cartouche still awaiting someones initials or name.
