When we think of Art Deco jewellery we tend to imagine jewellery familiar with our own countries styles and influences, however the Art Deco period was international, even regional, especially in Europe, and jewellers created styles influenced by the amalgamation of Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods.
In Germany, where we believe this amazing ring hails from, we find a perfect blend of Art Nouveau naturalism combined with Art Deco Expressionism, represented by the clean lines and diamonds set in white gold, and the result is little short of incredible!
This fabulous, rare and stunningly beautiful ring has been meticulously crafted from 14ct rose gold with the main body of the top plaque featuring asymmetrical flowing foliate vines and twisting spiral tendrils in the Art Nouveau manner, and, to the centre a beautiful ‘trilogy’ of three bezel set round early brilliant cut diamonds in horizontal fashion, supported to the ‘shoulders’ by six lovely rose-cut diamonds. This central panel is crafted from 18ct white gold with typical millgraine edging of the era.
Swept up rounded concave shoulders and a wide flat thick band keep this large - 2cm x 1.6cm ring incredibly comfortable on the finger.
