Charming antique ‘puffy heart’ crafted in Australian by one of our well known early jewellers Robert Rollason and hallmarked as such.
Modelled in 9ct rose gold and styled as a sentimental heart pendant featuring and engraved floral garland surrounding a tiny faceted Garnet to the centre.
Hollow in design as these early pendant were and retaining its original large bale which will accommodate a large(er) gauge chain or perhaps clip or thread this one to your favourite long guard chain.
Hallmarked with Rollason iconic back to back ‘R’s to the plain and other wise unadorned verso.

Robert Rollason founded his business in 1888 at 112 Kent street Sydney and was to become one of the foremost jewellery manufacturers in Australia.
By 1896 he moved his manufacturing to Castlereagh Street and by 1907 the firm chased their name to Rollason and Co and in 1910 Rollason and Co. Ltd.
Manufacturing a large range of gold and gem set jewellery, vesta and sovereign cases, chains and Albert watch chains the company moved to a larger premises at 112-114 Crown Street in 1922.
Two of their best chain makers Frederick Mountford and Henri Belle both went on to establish their own businesses in Sydney.

CONDITION
Very good antique condition. Tiny miniscule dents to rear, one slight impression to one side only, insignificant considering this piece is approx 120 years old. Garnet is secure with no damage. Bale is large and strong.
