Superb sovereign case crafted from 9ct rose gold and with full assay marks for Chester 1902 and crafted by William Neale of Warstone Lane, Birmingham; subsequently Cox Street, St Paul's, Birmingham.
Fashioned in pocket watch style with a perfectly functioning top button which when pressed pops open the case to reveal a spring loaded circular section to which two sovereigns would once have been held.
Inside the machine engraved pattern to the spring bed inside is lovely and also bears stamps ‘9 / 375’.
With a large bale to the top allowing a heavy gauge chain is desired, or pop this one on your favourite watch chain.
With bale 4.6cm
Fully hallmarked for 9ct gold
Chester date letter for 1902
Maker William Neale
Very good antique condition. Spring release works securely. Spring bed inside is fully functional. Very minor marks here and there to gold, superficial and noting for accuracy only. One very minor impression to side of case.
