Antique Australian 15ct Gold Opal Sword Brooch By Johnson and Simonsen Circa 1905

Superb 15ct gold Sword or sometimes described as ‘Jabot’ Brooch/Necklace by one of our early jewellery firms Johnson and Simonsen 1895-1914 ( later know as H. Simonsen Pty Ltd 1914-1927).

Constructed as an arrow with the central motif modelled as a flower, with natural Opal cabochons throughout.

Hallmarked to the verso with Johnson and Simonsen’ hallmark and the M.J.A of Victoria Guarantee mark of the ‘Hanging Fleece’.

At some stage during this pieces history we believe it has been converted to a necklace with the addition of an antique 9ct gold chain with barrel clasp which makes this piece so very versatile!
