Crafted in the late Victorian era circa 1890 from lush and bright 15ct yellow gold and set with twelve faceted Almandine Garnets, approximately 10cts total,  in slightly graduated style.

Each deep red faceted Garnet is set in a rub over bezel setting, with a fine rope work detail, open backed to verso which lets the light through and allows the garnet to exhibit a faint tinge of purple/pink in some lighting situations.

The Garnets are separated with a fine double row of cable links to a then further cable link trace chain and secured with a most unusual curved box clasp.

Measuring 41cm this ‘long’ choker sits nicely just on or above the collar bones.
Stamped 15ct in a style of stamp which makes us believe this piece is Australian however there are no makers marks.

Stunningly rare to find in a graduated 15ct gold necklace in such lovely condition.

CONDITION
Very very good antique condition.  Box clasp works perfectly and tight, its has one tiny impression to gold, insignificant.  All the garnets are securely set in their settings,  One garnet has a sliver chip however this is very hard to see with the naked eye. All in all a stunning and rare Victorian necklace.
