Modern 18ct Yellow And White Gold ‘Bow’ Brooch
Appearing also in the court of Louis XIV (1643-1715), where gold and silver formed into coulee bows were attached to necklace and brooches. When worn close to the heart this symbolised that one was in love!!
This fine modern example is crafted from bright and beautiful 18ct yellow gold in exquisite lattice openwork detail and designed as a ‘tied’ bow with flowing curvaceous lines and set with ten sparkling bright white round brilliant cut diamonds.
The diamonds are bezel set in individual 18ct white gold bezels and to the rear we find an 18ct white gold pin and secure ‘roll over’ clasp also in 18ct white gold.. this is just a fine touch of craftsmanship as, even tough the pin and clasp cannot be seen to the front, thought, design and attention to detail were used in this fine brooch's manufacture!
