We are especially partial to these bangles and have a small collection already otherwise this large and impressive example would be staying with us!
Crafted from 9ct rose gold with the textured swirling scrolled alternating panels with a yellow hue which would have had a gold wash applied when crafted approximately 117 years ago.
Larger than the average example, in width and size, this one measures an impressive 1.0cm to 1.2cm in width and an internal diameter of 6.2cm!
Strikingly beautiful on the wrist and hefty at 23 grams this bangle would have had a ‘wax’ filling originally but this has long since dried up and if shaken small pieces can be heard inside rattling! This is of no consequence and happens over the history quite often.
There are a few condition issues to note, and once again as collectors of these bangles we would be MORE than happy to add this one to our collection, however there are some minor splitting to the inside of the bangle, in three small places. This has been checked by us and our jeweller and if handled and worn with care these minor splits will stay as they are for another 50-100 years.
There are no dents or splits to the outside of the bangle, there is one perfectly round small hole which viewed under magnification is too perfect to be damage and possible there since manufacture ?
Having said all that this is a stunning example of early Australian jewellery and to have survived over 100 years in the condition she is is quite and achievement.

CONDITION
Good antique condition. The outside panels and decoration show no dents. The inside of the bangle shows 3 areas of splitting which are stable as assessed by our manufacturing jeweller and ourselves. Push in clasp works perfectly and original safety chain is present also. Minor marks to gold. Lovely hue to gold.
