Antique Victorian Silver Book Chain And Large Locket Circa 1889-90
A sumptuous and strikingly impressive Victorian Sterling Silver fancy bookchain and Sterling silver ‘back and front’ locket dating to the late Victorian era.
The wonderful bookchain is in typical form with exquisite floral motif engraving and measures a very pleasing 46cm neck circumference, and fastening with a 1.3cm bolt ring.
Suspended below is the original matching extension drop which secures the large and ornate 4.3cm x 3.5cm hinged double sided locket. The locket opens to reveal two large compartments to hold a treasured photo or two, the original rims are present and two replacement clear plastic panes.
Increasingly hard to find with the associated extension drop, this substantial 42 gram piece of Victoriana looks stunning around the neck and is deal for any occasion day or night, these necklaces will never go out of style.

CONDITION
Very very good antique condition. Locket opens and closes perfectly. Minor marks here and there to front under scrutiny, no dents or dings to front or rear panel. In side rims are original, plastic panes are replacements. At the moment there is no card or photo to either compartments so rims and panes are ‘loose’, all this needs is your personal preference to be inserted.
Collar is lovely, no repairs or damages. The very first jump ring may be a replacement, it just doesn’t look as ‘old’ as all the other components, irrelevant. Bolt ring is nice and springy, opens and closes perfectly. Patina here and there. No other issues to note.
