Antique Victorian Etruscan Revival 10ct and 14ct Rose Gold Etruscan Ball Watch Fob Circa 1880’s
A fabulous Victorian watch fob featuring a beautiful 14ct rose gold Etruscan Revival golden Orb decorated with stunning applied gold rope work and granulation floral motifs throughout.
Suspending the Etruscan Orb is a four strand box link belt type chain to a useful and versatile dog clip.
The Orb has an applied cartouche with a ’10’ stamp for 10ct gold however it has been tested as higher carat at 14ct. The four strand chain also tests as 14ct gold and the dog-clip lower at around 8ct gold. Quite typical in the victorian era to find mixed gold contents such as this.
There are various ways to wear/style fob charms such as these - please see photos for styling options. Of course these days it is very cool once again to wear/carry a fob watch and would be wonderful to see it used and seen as intended!
