Antique Victorian 9ct Rose Gold Etruscan Revival Diamond Earrings Birmingham Circa 1880-90
An absolutely charming and dainty pair of earrings dating to the late Victorian era and hallmarked, we believe for 1888 (date letter obscured slightly by setting).
Crafted from 9ct rose gold which has been bloomed to the outer ornate area giving a matte yellow gold hue, and to the centre the slightly raised round section is a more rosy hued gold.
Set with a tiny rose-cut diamond in a gypsy or ‘guiding star’ setting popular during the Victorian era.
Designed as post fittings for pierced ears with (later) butterfly backs these dainty almost 1.0cm round antique earrings look elegant and timeless on the ear.
