Antique Victorian 14ct Gold Carbuncle ‘Star’ OMC Diamond Set Ring - Circa 1880-90
A superb example of its kind, this ring has quickly become one of our favourites and we hope yours too!
Dating to the late Victorian era this it features a large and substantially sized domed cabochon Garnet measuring approximately 1.6cm x 1.4cm by 9.2mm ‘high’ or approx 21cts, … the height of the Garnet allows the light to shine through from all angles displaying the most luscious deep but vibrant red we’ve seen.
Atop the Garnet is an eight rayed star set old Mine-cut diamond which twinkles agains the gold and deep red of the Garnet in stunning fashion.
The Garnet is set in a closed backed setting, to tri-furcated trefoil split shoulders and a grooved shank.
Crafted in 14ct rose gold however this hue is a soft rosy/yellow gold, just beautiful, and perfect for those that adore that ‘in between’ antique gold hue.
An incredible piece of Victorian jewellery, a must perhaps for the January birthstone Garnet amongst us, or anyone who truly admire quality Victorian jewellery.

Excellent antique condition. A superb ring with no issues to note. No chips or abrasions to Garnet or diamond. Diamond very sure in an eight claw setting. No thinning to shank.
