Laybys welcome! Contact Us today to secure your dream piece.
An antique sterling silver combination dip pen and propelling pencil, fully hallmarked with UK hallmarks for Thomas Hayes, Spender Street Birmingham, and date letter stamped for 1904.

This stunning piece of craftsmanship is not only a functional writing instrument but also a work of art that embodies the elegance of a bygone era.

The Sterling Silver body of the pen and pencil is adorned with intricate engravings, and the two sliders are ornate and as equally lovely, showcasing the attention to detail and skill of the silversmiths who created it.

Interestingly, suspended from a chain at the top, is a Silver coin dated 1894.  Perhaps this coin had a special meaning to the original owner, we will never know!

Whether you’re a calligraphy enthusiast or a lover of vintage treasures, this unique find is bound to capture your imagination

CONDITION
Very good antique condition.  One thing to note is the dip pen is a copper colour, we believe for strength, and was probably silver plated over originally. The rosy copper contrasts quite nicely with the remaining Sterling silver!  Both dip pen and propelling pencil (no lead at present) slide well, the pen slides a little stiffly, nothing major.  Earlier Silver coin has been ‘punched’ through to attach and is intrinsically worthless, but charming.

Please note chains are for display only unless otherwise stated.
