Antique Edwardian 9ct Rose Gold Seed Pearl Double Sided Photo Locket Circa 1910
Please note, boxes are for display only unless otherwise stated.
Dating to the Edwardian era circa 1910-15 this charming and every popular in design locket is almost definitely Australian in manufacture.
Crafted in 9ct rose gold and set with six natural half seed Pearls to each gorgeous Star motif on the outside frame. Double sided in more ways than one, this example can be worn with the Pearls to the front OR worn with the reverse to the from as the Star settings holding the Pearls are completely enclosed.. this is the first we have seen with they added attraction!
The two original glass frames are present and in very good condition (one tiny chip to outside rim), just waiting for a special photo or two or a loved one, or perhaps some tiny gemstones of your choice - we’ve added some tiny natural Sapphires and these are included in the purchase.
Measuring a larger than usual 5cm drop with the top bale, and 4cm round, these now hard to find lockets are special, interesting and poignant reminders of a time gone by!

CONDITION
Very very good antique condition. Original hard plastic double frames. No dents or dings. Opens early and closes securely. One small ‘chip’ to outer edge of one frame, this would be very hard to see when/if a photo or similar was inserted. Sapphires inside a later addition, this one lends itself to being used as a ‘shaker’ locket. Pearls original, no re-glues.
