A wondrous and early chatelaine perfume case and interior glass perfume bottle ( with original perfume! ) dating to around the Edwardian era.
Crafted from 14ct gold which is a rosy / yellow hue with impeccable ornate engraving work throughout.
To the front is an exquisite oval medallion with an initial in ‘ye olde’ script to the centre we believe is a ‘C’ and to the verso detailed geometric patterns, all of which is then further accented by floral scrolling work to the entirely of the case.
Hinged and opening to reveal the original glass perfume bottle, with original secure stopper, and.. we believe if not original perfume, then very very old perfume, which incredibly still has an attractive scent. We have decided to leave the perfume remnants as it’s a classic scent we cannot quite put our finger on (you may know!), but of course if desired this can simply be washed out with soapy water!
Measuring an impressive size - 4.5cm x 3.0cm - and, with the gold chatelaine chain, a drop of 6cm, this eye watering beautiful piece of jewellery can be worn on a fine chain threaded through the top loop or, on a dog clip on your favourite watch or muff chain.
In excellent condition for her age this piece is sure to become a treasured family heirloom.

CONDITION
Very good to excellent antique condition. Top lid opens and closes very securely, hinge is excellent. Gold case has no dents nor damage, engraving is stunning. Perfume bottle is in very very good condition, stopper has no chips. Underneath rim of perfume bottle under magnification are tiny insignificant flea bites only, bottle itself is excellent with no damage. Inside gold perfume case has been ‘gold washed’ for protection from perfume chemicals, all original of course. Chatelaine chain original. Beautiful piece.
