Quite an amazing and stunningly beautiful 9ct buttery rich yellow gold Scarab faience ring dating from we believe to be from the third Neo-Egyptian revival period.

The first Neo-Egyptian period was brought about by Napoleon's journey to Egypt (circa 1805-1810). The second revival was caused by the opening of the Suez Canal (circa 1870) and the third was initiated by the discovery of King Tut-Ankh-Amun’s tomb (circa 1922).

With a large glazed faience blue hued scarab measuring approximately 1.7cm x 1.1cm set to the centre, to a fine rope twist border at its base. The shoulders are intricate and carved in a motif reminiscent of an Egyptian lotus or perhaps a rounded tapered snakes head which then leads to a slim and sturdy half round shank.

The scarab is in perfect condition, no signs of wear, this piece has been treasured and cared for.

Very very good antique condition. No chips, abrasions or damage to Scarab. Gold work is lovely and shank shows no thinning. Minor marks to gold, insignificant. Lovely ring.
