Antique 9ct Rose Gold Double Sided Spinner Fob Pendant - Chester 1912
Please note, boxes are for display only unless otherwise stated.
This wonderful antique 9-carat rose gold spinner fob pendant, hallmarked for the year 1912 and assayed in Chester, is a fine piece that exemplifies early 20th-century craftsmanship. Weighing 6.4 grams, this pendant is double-sided, showcasing both aesthetics and versatility.
On one side of the pendant is a polished carnelian, known for its rich, warm orange-red hue. On the reverse side is a bloodstone, characterised by its deep green colour interspersed with red specks, reminiscent of droplets of blood. Both stones are oval in shape and are elegantly set within the rose gold frame.
The pendant’s spinner mechanism allows it to rotate, revealing either the carnelian or bloodstone according to the wearer's preference. The frame itself is intricately designed in curblink style, with its original sturdy bale (also hallmarked) at the top to attach the pendant to a chain.
The combination of materials and the functionality of the spinner design highlight the pendant's dual nature, allowing it to be worn in multiple ways, depending on the occasion or the wearer's mood. This piece is a beautiful example of antique jewellery that marries practicality with elegant design.
