Antique Edwardian Sterling Silver Vesta Case By John Gilbert - Birmingham 1904

Sale price$445.00 AUD

Laybys welcome! Contact Us today to secure your dream piece.
Crafted during a time when elegance and sophistication reigned supreme, this large Sterling Silver vesta case is not only a charming reminder of days gone by but, today, a wearable and functional piece of jewellery.

Manufactured and assayed in 1904, from Sterling Silver, and makers marks (we believe) for John Gilbert & Co., this large example measures 4.8cm high x 3.5cm wide and weighs a very substantial 27 grams, a very solid example.

Engraved both front and back with an intricate scrolling foliate pattern, and, quite wonderfully to the front we find an uninscribed ribbon style cartouche just awaiting your initials or name.

Pop this one on your favourite chain or fob chain and, as many now do, use the interior once designed for matches for a special keepsake…
