Antique Victorian Gold Gilt Repousse Coral And Seed Pearl Locket Pendant Circa 1880
Large and quite beautiful locket dating to the late Victorian era circa 1880.
Crafted in gold over metal but ‘real’ gold washed as this one tests via X-ray fluorescence as 6ct gold over.
The front central oval panel is set with a charming floral design with tiny pale salmon coral and half seed Pearls.
Bordering this panel is detailed ornate repousse work and to the rear another oval panel with a central shield shape motif to apply initials if desired, and surrounded with a pretty delicate engraved wreath.
The oval panels are a pale rosy gold hue and the repousse surrounds throw more of a subtle yellow hue, the combination is lovely!
Opening to reveal to compartments with original frames and probably later perspex panes to which a photo or two can be placed.
Large at 4.4cm x 3.5cm without the bale, and with, a lovely impressive drop of 5.7cm.

Very good antique condition. No dents. Inside rims present, later perspex panes in good condition. Minor marks only. All coral and seed pearls original, no replacements or re-glues. Impressive piece! Closes very securely with a snap, she likes to be closed at the bottom.
