Antique Australian 9ct Yellow Gold ‘Kookaburra’ Brooch Circa 1910
Crafted in Australian sometime around the early part of the 20th century this charming brooch depicts our iconic national emblem, the Kookaburra!
Very popular during this era, a sign of our national pride, many of our early jewellery firms manufactured these wonderful brooches.. sadly this one is not hallmarked with a makers mark, but 100 % Aussie!
Modelled in lush and bright 9ct yellow gold this charming open mouthed - laughing Kookaburra - is set with an array of half seed Pearls, tiny Turquoise cabochons and a tiny red paste for his eye.
Original C clasp and pin to verso keeps this little guy securely fastened to your favourite lapel or shirt collar.

Very good antique condition. Turquoise has changed colour due to age, not significant. One pearl appears to be a replacement. Early stabilisation to rear holding Kookaburra to brooch bar, this has been done in gold not solder! Original C clasp and pin.
