Antique Victorian 15ct Gold Diamond And Enamel Etruscan Revival Earrings Circa 1880’s
An outstanding pair of antique Victorian Etruscan revival earrings dating to the late Victorian era.
Crafted from rich and radiant 15ct yellow gold in Etruscan style, and featuring shepherds hooks suspending the top surmount in true Grecian style with royal blue enamel in Grecian key-work design, and tiny articulated ball dangle detailing.
Below, the main body of the earrings are oval with three dimensional rope-work, to the next oval motif which is adorned with beautiful white enameling and tiny round gold inlays for the full circumference.
Inside this oval is exquisite ‘rayed’ royal blue enamel work which is intense and wonderfully vibrant, and superb gold eight rayed ‘Star’ motifs each set with a diamond.
Closed to the backs in typical form, these earring measure a face framing drop of 5cm drop from the ear.
A true embodiment of Victorian artistry, these earrings are an heirloom for the discerning collector or any one seeking a piece of history with a touch of Victorian romance.

CONDITION
Very very good antique condition. As mentioned we believe the round brilliant-cut diamond is a replacement however it has been expertly done with no evidence of repair/replacement even when examined under x 10 loupe. Enamel work is lovely with no losses or wear, vibrant and intense. The Star settings appear to ‘hover’ above the enamel, they are set to a slightly raised post setting which is quite stunning! No dents or dings to rear panels, minor marks only. Shepherd hook would be a later (we believe) addition but are tested as 15ct gold also, strong, straight and firm.
