An outstanding survivor from the Georgian era, this increasingly rare to find style is called a ‘Bague au Firmament’ ring:

"Bague au firmament" translates to "ring of the heavens”.  Bague  - French for ring, Firmament -  French for Heavens or sky.

These rings, popular in the late 18th century, featured a blue glass or enamel setting intended to evoke the night sky, often with diamond or paste diamonds representing the stars. They were particularly associated with Marie Antoinette and her husband, Louis XVI, and were seen as symbolic of love and joy.

This superb example dates to around 1790 and features a large oval blue enamelled plaque, set to the centre with a garland motif in silver, and set with small rough-cut/raw diamonds.
The encompassing border and magnificent shoulders display an openwork design with further rough-cut/raw diamonds set in silver topped gold, and to the verso of the oval central plaque is strikingly beautiful engraved-worked silver. A total of 56 diamonds overall.

The shank is as outstanding as befitting a ring of this age and design…. Heavily carved and ornate, and in excellent condition with no wear or thing.. truly incredible for its two centuries + of life.  This ring is around 230 years old and is in overall fantastic condition. (Read condition report below).

We encourage you to do your own research if you’re not familiar with rings of this age and rarity, a refined google search is suggested.

A must-have for the Georgian jewellery connoisseur.. this survivor from centuries past, with care, will last another lifetime or two.

Is very very strong, thick and with no wear or thinning or the ornate nature.  No previous resizes.  No repairs.  A glorious ring.
