Antique Edwardian 9ct Rose Gold Double Sided Photo Locket Birmingham 1903
Dating to the early 20th century this large Edwardian double sided photo locket was crafted by Marion & Co - London and assayed and stamped for Birmingham 1903.
Designed as a very large - 6.5cm x 4.5cm - double photo locket and crafted from 9ct rosy hued gold with two of the most impressive bevelled edged thick glass panes we have seen in a locket!
Designed of course to hold two photos which during the Edwardian era would have been quite thick, today one would need to pop a thick piece of card in-between to ‘plump’ out the panes of glass, which is not a problem to do!
Opening via the screw top bale and easily separating as the bottom is cleverly hinged making this one effortless to open and close.
A statement piece given her large (and hefty) proportions this larger than normal antique locket is a striking addition to your jewellery collection.
(Highland cow picture inside at present not original).
