Antique 14ct Russian Rose Gold Ruby And Diamond Locket c1907-1918
Typical of Russian gold the hue is a rich rose gold, once termed, and sometimes still, as ‘red’ or ‘pink’ gold.
Set with a pear-cut Ruby ‘suspended’ in pendant fashion from a ‘necklace’ of tiny rough rose cut diamonds to the front panel and opening to reveal two compartments which retain their original gold rims and two, perhaps later, clear panes.
The verso is highly polished and plain bearing the Russian stamps.
One only has to search online for similar pieces to understand the value of this coveted and desirable antique lockets.. a true asset to any serious jewellery connoisseurs collection.
