Antique Edwardian Sterling Silver And Agate Vesta Case - 1907 (With Later Chain)
A fine example of Edwardian silver craftsmanship in the form of a Vesta case crafted in 1907 by Joseph Cook & Son of Livery Street Birmingham and hallmarked as such.
Crafted from Sterling silver and adorned to the front with an agate-set beautiful Scottish Thistle surrounded by finely worked engraving.
To the rear a highly stylised monogram set of initials we cannot decipher!, to a plain background.
Suspending this large 4.5cm x 3.2cm Vesta case a later Sterling Silver rope chain with conical terminals and a Sterling silver dog-clip. A heavy chain weighing a lovely 35 grams and measuring a very pleasing 70cm in length, this chain does not have a clasp to open and close it, it simply slips over the head with ease!
The pairing of this antique Vesta with a vintage chain works perfectly, they compliment each other so well we have decided not to separate them.
A statement necklace which receives compliments and turns heads every time it is worn!
