This exquisite antique Edwardian-era Nephrite Jade fob, crafted circa 1901–1910, features an intricately emblazoned Kiwi bird, a cherished symbol of New Zealand’s unique identity and natural heritage.
Crafted from 9ct rose gold and designed as a traditional watch fob pendant measuring a delightful 4.5cm drop with the top ring, and featuring the national symbol of New Zealand - the Kiwi - inside an ornate wreath motif, with equally ornate gold capping and ribbon like work to the surmount.
The top ring/bale is tested as gold filled or similar, however as its large, solid and in very good condition we have decided to leave as is.. it will accommodate a large gauged chain, bolt ring or a dog-clip or two, in fact it looks superb on an antique watch chain necklace!
Together, the Kiwi, Jade, and gold symbolise a profound connection to Aotearoa, offering spiritual guardianship and resilient pride — a perfect heirloom or sentimental keepsake from New Zealand’s colonial past!

CONDITION
Very good to excellent antique condition. The Nephrite Jade is lovely, no chips or abrasions, vibrant and lush. Gold work is in excellent condition with no damages or repairs. As noted above the top ring has been tested as gold filled or similar, however it is large and solid showing with only a little patina under magnification and suits the piece - a new solid gold ring could be easily replaced by your jeweller if desired, we deem this at this stage unnecessary. No other issues to note.
