Vintage 9ct Yellow Gold Garnet Double Head Snake Ring - Circa 1950’s

Crafted from bright and buttery 9ct yellow gold and designed as a ‘Toi et Moi’ or ‘You and Me’ Serpent ring popularised when Prince Albert proposed to Queen Victoria with a Snake ring set with an Emerald.

The public, at this time, and in the subsequent decades to follow, continued to favour Serpent jewellery and it remained popular into the late 19th century and beyond.
Symbolic of everlasting commitment and love, the enduring nature of Serpent rings persists today.

Featuring two sinuous intertwined Serpents, both with charming expressions and tiny faceted Garnet eyes, coiled tails and stylised realistic engraving to the heads, to a ’split’ band and a sensible solid section to the verso which would enable this ring to be resized if required.

Low rise on the finger and designed to be very comfortable to wear ( we can guarantee this! ), this desirable and timeless ring turns heads whenever it is worn.
