A truly mesmerisingly beautiful brooch dating to the late Victorian era circa 1880’s.

Crafted from 15ct rose gold and designed as a bar brooch set centrally with a natural Ceylon type blue Sapphire 6.75mm x 6.1mm or approximately 1.20ct.
A superb colour, the Sapphire is a pale to medium blue with a subtle lavender hue viewed in certain lights, set in a ten claw crown setting, and flanked to either side with eight (a total of sixteen) tiny rose-cut diamonds which sparkle beautifully as all rose-cuts do!

Numerous hallmarks abound… to the C clasp, the brooch pin and to the gallery beneath the Sapphire.  Sadly we cannot identify most, but the letter ‘A’ is seen clearly .. this is not a date letter, we believe it is the Makers mark but again we cannot attribute it to a particular maker, at least not at the moment.

Pieces such as this with multiple marks in numerous places denotes quality and this brooch is certainly that!

An elegant piece of 19th century jewellery with an unheated natural Sapphire of the most beautiful hue, this lovely piece of jewellery elicits compliments when ever, and where ever she is worn.
