Antique Mother Of Pearl Thimble Case With Silver Thimble Circa 1900
For all the sewing enthusiasts we offer this charming antique Mother of Pearl thimble case and antique silver Thimble.
Off egg shaped design, crafted from iridescent MOP showing a nice ‘orient’ (shimmering colours) with gold/brass mounts and hinged back.
Inside we find a simple removable cotton wool interior - the crafty could line this with a lush velvet if desired - and what may be possibly the original silver thimble.
The thimble is silver, tested as between .833 and .925 silver, with a tiny un-inscribed shield cartouche, and is topped with a textured peach coloured resin top, to a gilt wash inside the thimble.
A lovely addition for the sewing accessory collectors.
