Vintage 9ct Yellow Gold And Red Spinel ‘Serpent’ Necklace - Birmingham
A fabulous Egyptian revival Serpent necklace fully hallmarked with UK hallmarks for manufacture in Birmingham 1980.
Crafted from lush and bright 9ct yellow gold and designed as a semi-flexible ‘snake’ chain, which is substantial and wide, and featuring a wonderfully ornate engraved Serpent head, sinuous and beautifully engraved, with tiny faceted sparkling red eyes, either Spinel or Ruby, and equally curvaceous engraved tail.
The stunning head and tail cross over with elegance in almost Ouroboros style, symbolising unity and eternal love.
Securing to the back with a push-release box hidden box clasp for ease of use and secures perfectly.
In almost pristine condition, this piece has seen little use evidenced by its condition, and deserves to be seen, loved and worn again!
