Superb Vintage 9ct Yellow Gold And Ruby Serpent Bangle - By ‘Cropp & Farr’ - Hatton Garden - Chester Hallmarks 1961
Please note, boxes are for display only unless otherwise stated.
A superb coiled Serpent bangle by renowned jewellery firm ‘Cropp & Farr’ operating out of Hatton Garden, London, and fully hallmarked as such and for assay in Chester 1961.
Crafted from 9ct yellow gold and designed as a flexible and strong bangle which will fit most wrists, this stunning example features the most beautiful head and face on a Serpent we have had the pleasure of offering.
Beautifully depicted with sinuous form and structure, detailed scrolling engraving and upswept eyes with vibrant faceted red Rubies and a gentle and very handsome expression to his face!
The engraved details are replicated on his tail with simple and elegant cross-hatched details representing scales.
Sitting in cross-over style on the wrist this hefty bangle weighs a not too heavy but very comfortable 21.8 grams, and is designed ingeniously with flexible metal spring fully enclosed within the 9ct gold bangle allowing it to expand and snap back like magic!, and therefore will fit a small to large wrist, or can be worn higher on the arm if desired. They certainly don’t make them like this anymore!
Stunning in both quality and manufacture, not to mention beauty, this 60 plus year old bangle, with care will last another lifetime or two!
